The personal and professional trajectories of the association's members are intermeshed with struggles for equality, racial and social justice at national, European and international level. In addition to their lived experience expertise, they also bring together a diversity of academic, legal, and professional expertise that guides (RE)Claim's design, aims, strategies, approaches and implementation. (RE)Claim’s focus and approach were developed through the work of its founders to challenge racial profiling. That process, working hand-in-hand with grassroots stakeholders and litigators across France, developed creative legal strategies, and spotlighted a clear need for a specialist legal advocacy organization dedicated to fighting discrimination and amplifying the collective power of stakeholders directly impacted by racism and racial discrimination.

(RE)Claim’s founding members have been fighting against all forms of racism and systemic racial discrimination for many years.
