(Re)claim’s first themes involve problems of systemic racial discrimination with significant and multifaceted impacts on the lives of racialized people from childhood and continuing from generation to generation. Understanding and addressing these problems requires a systemic approach that takes into account the manner state laws, policies, institutions, culture and ideology perpetuate the status quo and the role of historic and present-day structural racism and its consequences.
